A few weeks ago, I found out that I was not in the know about a reboot of one of the best loved series on TV. Brent Forrester, A tv writer and producer who has worked on shows such as, The office, Space force, The Simpsons and most notably King of the Hill. Brent took to Reddit in March of 2021 to host an AMA. Several users asked some great questions about TV production and writing scripts for shows. The event took a turn down Rainy Street when someone asked Brent if there had been any update on a possible King of the Hill revival. Brent had the following response
I am sure Greg Daniels and Mike Judge will murder me for sharing this but… HELL YES. They are in host negotiations to bring back King of the Hill. The Trump administration made it suddenly very relevant again. The characters have all aged 15 years. The project is sooooo good. Okay I’ve said too much 🙂

This is great news for any King of the Hill fan. The shows originally ran for 13 seasons, the final episode aired on September 13, 2009. There are so many routes and possibilities the new series could take. With the characters aging 15 years, Hank and his crew would be roughly in their 50’s, Bobby, his friends, Joseph, and Connie, would be around 28, and it would be interesting to see if they would recast LuAnn, due to the passing of Brittany Murphy in December of 2009, or if they will write the story around this.
Seeing where the kids of the ally end us is exciting as well, did Bobby follow his dream of being a clown? We can wonder if Connie pursued college and stayed in Arlen, TX or moved on from the town. Would Joseph finally figure out his Native American Heritage and look to learn more around that? And what of the adults? Did Hank take over as Manager or Owner of Strickland Propane? I could see a person like Hank keeping the Strickland name to Honor Buck Strickland. I wonder if Bill finally finds love and makes rank in the military.
I hope this reboot comes to fruition, so all of our questions are answered and we have a few more seasons of one of the best shows to ever air on TV.
